Plastic Destroys Our Earth

I think that people are using plastic way too much and now it is destroying our planet. We have been using plastic for a century, and now it began to harm life on earth. About 1 million birds and 100 thousand marine mammals are being killed because of plastic. We’re killing animals without thinking. The stupid use of plastic bags should be stopped and recyclable bags should be used. Plastic takes an extremely long time to degrade, so we should use other materials such as corn products or silk, which is more natural and can break down in the environment. Plastic is a material that has been with us for a long time, so can we stop using it? Plastic is sometimes necessary,  but we might be able to decrease the usage of it. For now on, if you buy a bottle of water you can just reuse it once. If every single person in America does this, we will be able to save about 50 billion plastic bottles per year from winding up in landfills or the ocean. We can reduce, reuse, and recycle before it’s too late to save our Earth.
