The Dangers of Plastic

Admit it, we all use plastics. Why? Because it’s cheap, strong, lightweight, and functional. Plastics can be used to carry food as well as other goods. We used so much plastics that it have already became an important part of our lives. But do we really need it? We could’ve used other products or resources to replace plastic.

It’s important for people to know that plastic is harmful to all living things on the planet. Plastic causes pollution, kills wildlife, and uses up resources of the Earth. Most plastics go into landfills after they’re used. Many people would carelessly litter plastic, and it would end up everywhere. Plastic also kill animals. Every year, a large number of animals would mistakenly ingest plastic. This is a big problem. We humans would end up consuming the toxic chemicals from these animal’s dead body. Also, one of the worst environmental effects is that plastics are non-biodegradable. It would take approximately 450 years for plastic to decompose!

Together, everyone should help spread awareness about the danger of plastics. We can reduce the use of plastic by using a tote bag when we go shopping, or recycling used plastic bottle. The world would become a better place without plastic.
