As students of TCIS’s global issues class, Jeen and I were struck by the idea of raising awareness for different world issues through the means of social media. The first issue we decided to tackle as a whole group was poverty and as we conducted thorough research on the topic, we were
amazed by the reality of the problem. By seeing others tweet, tweeting different stats ourselves, retweeting famous people’s quotes regarding poverty, and gaining followers who share the same passion of making this world a better place on twitter, we’ve grown up ourselves so much.
