“Help Me If You Can”
Can you imagine? Half of the world -- 3 billion people live on less than 2.50 dollars per day. I can’t even imagine how I could spend less than one dollar a day. I couldn’t even buy one dish of food at a fast food service. How unfair the world is! The struggles that the poor has is not only poverty, but also hunger, sanitation, and much more.
With that being said, as we hear the word ‘poverty’, we often think: ghettos, beggars, and filth. To sum it up, it is basically the state of living a low quality of life. Low quality of life consists of poor education, little sanitation, and lack of food. This is considered depressing already, but what’s worse, is this term called “absolute poverty”, is also known as extreme poverty. Absolute poverty is the condition in which there are barely any necessities to maintain survival. Food, shelter, and water is at its least available. I can’t imagine myself going through that. It must be the most painful but most important struggle of your life.
Most people may think that donating money will help them the most. Yes, money will help them, but what will help them is something other than money. If we give them hope we can lift their hearts up from the ground. If we educate them, we give them the knowledge to expand themselves, leaving them the ability to improve their lifestyle. If we give them tools and materials, we give them the opportunity to fix a broken house, a place of warmth for a family. If we are able to give them something, little or not, I’m sure, it will help them somehow.
We’d like to share a song which reflects a life of an individual, fighting for their lives just in order to fill their family’s empty stomachs. The song is called, “What Would You Do?” by Bastille. (Link to song: goo.gl/bkrRgw) Enjoy the song and have a nice day! -PingPing and Porsche
