We are drowning in plastic

By Anonymous  |  21:26 No comments

It seems nearly impossible to escape plastic in our everyday lives, doesn’t it?
And we can’t escape plastic pollution, either.

Plastic is everywhere around us. Plastic keyboard. Plastic framed computer monitor. Plastic mouse. The amount of plastic that we encounter every day doesn’t end there.
But where does all this plastic go? some of it be recycled but quite a bit ends up in landfills. And more than you can imagine ends up in the oceans.

Plastic Pollution
Did you know?
  • Enough plastic is thrown away each year to circle the earth four times.
  • It takes 500-1,000 years for plastic to degrade
  • One million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals are killed yearly from plastic in our oceans.
  • Americans throw away 35 billion plastic water bottles every year
  • Annually approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide. More than one million bags are used every minute.
  • Approximately 90 percent of all trash floating on the ocean’s is plastic

What can we do?
The solution of this plastic problem start within yourself.
  • spread awareness
  • Seek out alternatives to the plastic items that you rely on.
  • Drink out of glasses made of glass instead of using plastic cups.
There are so many ways to avoid the use of plastic. I know that plastic is easy to find and easy to use but if we still lazy and ignore about this, maybe in the near future our lovely world will be full of plastic.

This maybe happen in the future
