What is natural disaster?
Natural disaster is an natural event such as earthquakes, floods, or hurricanes. It causes severe damage and deaths. Every type of natural disaster affects the ecosystem. It damages and destroys homes...We humans can impact the ecosystem. The ecosystem may also change overtime. After a natural disaster it’s possible for the ecosystem to form back to it’s natural way. For example like how a few years ago Thailand had the floods, it has damaged the houses and roads and factories in a major way and has lost so much, but the damaged may be repaired.
The year 2014 saw several natural disasters around the world, which now has had the world start to worries. How long till the world is going to goes to an end with all the natural disasters and global warming. It’s a threat to life and the planet. Worldwide in 2011, there were 154 floods, 16 droughts, and 15 cases of extreme temperature. This year 2015 Nepal have suffered almost total devastation with 7.8 magnitude earthquake. All the ancient buildings all destroyed. Lots of people in need of food, water, and shelter.
The effects of natural disasters are
- Displaced Populations
- people have to abandon their homes and seek shelter in other regions
- Health Risks
- spread of bacteria cause diseases
- health complications
- death tolls rise
- Food Scarcity
- destroyed crops
- loss of agricultural supplies
- Emotional Aftershocks
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- emotional distress
Although we cannot prevent natural disasters, we can help out by donating money, food, supplies, etc. Also providing food, clean water, healthcare, and emotional support to them.
What we can do to hope that there wouldn’t be much natural disasters occurring, we should be protecting our earth at the first place by saving the electricity and water, and no trees cutting, etc. Don’t harm the nature so the mother nature won’t pay u back.
